Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BLUEFIELD, Va. - The Bluefield College softball team improved their record to double digit wins with a 9-4 and 9-1 sweep over Alice Lloyd on Monday afternoon.

Alice Lloyd scored first, scoring two runs in the top of the third inning. BC responded with two runs in the bottom half of the frame after Alexandra Bartley singled to center field and two batters later, Kaitlyn Pennington blasted a two-run shot off of the scoreboard in left field. ?The Rams would take the 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth on a solo homerun from Kena Denton, but the Eagles would tie it up in the top of the fifth inning. ?BC put up six more runs in the bottom half of the sixth on a couple of hits and a couple of defensive errors. ?Alice Lloyd got one run back in the top of the seventh but were unable to score any more. ?Bartley got the win in the circle for the Rams, and also led the offensive effort going 2-3 in the game.

In game two, Baily Garin controlled the game from the mound, only allowing three hits and she had four strikeouts. ?The only run Alice Lloyd got across was in the top of the fourth inning. ?The bats came alive for the Rams in the second game, as they were able to push runs across in five of the six innings played. ?Five of the nine Rams in the lineup had multiple hits in the game. ?Morgan Sawyers went 3-4, Morgan Stephens and Pennington went 2-3, Michaela Carter was 2-4 and Garin was 2-2 with two walks.

The Rams improve to 11-19 on the year and 1-11 in the AAC. ?The team will return to action on Wednesday, March 30, as they host St. Andrews University. ?Game times are set for 2:00 and 4:00 at Graham Recreational Park.
