About the Dome Gymnasium
The Dome Gymnasium is one of Bluefield College's most historic buildings, having been constructed in 1967 and opening on January 1, 1968 with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Originally known as the Golden Dome, the facility provides one of the most unique atmostpheres you will experience in collegiate athletics. At a capacity of 800, fans envelope the playing court with seating courtside and on the upper concourse.
Bluefield College's men's and women's basketball teams have combined for a 99-50 (.664) record at the Dome Gymnasium in the last six seasons, including a perfect 12-0 mark by the men's team during the 2008-09 season.
The facility houses coaches' offices, trainers' offices, the athletic training room, locker rooms, a team room and even batting cages for BC's softball program.
During the summer of 2013, the Dome recieved a variety of upgrades, including renovated locker rooms, fresh paint on virtually every wall, a rewaxed competition floor and a new press area for streaming, radio and visiting media.
