Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Bluefield College Rams battled the NAIA's No. 5 team for 40 minutes, but in the end the Union Bulldogs came away with a 79-75 win, Saturday afternoon at the Dome Gymnasium.
The Rams shot a scorching 48 percent from the floor in the opening half, including 63 percent (5-of-8) from behind the three point line. Bluefield took a 41-36 lead into the intermission.
Bluefield led in the second and a Bulldogs charge late in the game gave the visitors the lead which led to victory.
Zeke Williams led four Rams who scored in double figures. Williams finished with 17, Cordaris Towns added 13, Stanthony Nelms tallied 11 and Sidney Knox scored 10. Additionally, Towns had five rebounds and four blocks. Knox and Williams were the game's top thieves as Knox had five steals and Williams three.
J.D. Tucker led Union (24-4, 15-1) with a game-high 20 points and Gerrard Newby scored 16.
The Rams (15-11, 7-9 AAC) host St. Andrews, Wednesday in the team's final home game of the season. It will be Senior Night and seniors Zeke Williams, Alonzo Howard, Joseph McClain, Robert Pinkston and Darius Scott will be honored.
