BLUEFIELD, Va. – Isaiah Sanders delivered a moment the Dome won't soon forget Saturday afternoon, scoring on a putback layup with 0.4 seconds remaining to lift Bluefield University to an 89-87 Senior Day victory over Reinhardt in the Rams' regular season finale.
Bluefield controlled much of the first half, using defensive pressure and dominance on the glass to build a double-digit lead. Ke'Shaun Tonsall ignited an early run with back-to-back finishes in the paint, while DeAndre Miles controlled the boards and scored 11 first-half points. Elijah White knocked down a pair of three-pointers during a key stretch, and Tyler Owens added six points off the bench as the Rams pushed their lead to as many as 15 before taking a 44-31 advantage into halftime.
Reinhardt responded with a strong second half, shooting over 61 percent from the floor after the break. The Eagles gradually trimmed the deficit and eventually tied the game at 87-87 with 20 seconds remaining following a three-point play.
Out of a timeout, BU worked for the final shot. A missed three-pointer bounced long, but Sanders crashed the offensive glass and finished through traffic at the rim with one second left to send the Dome crowd into celebration.
Danny Alford led the Rams with 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting and added seven rebounds. Miles recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Tonsall contributed 18 points and three assists. White added 11 points and seven assists, and Owens chipped in six off the bench.
Bluefield shot 49.3 percent from the field and out-rebounded Reinhardt 41-36, including 15 offensive boards that led to 24 second-chance points.
The win capped the 2025-26 campaign for BU, which finished the year 4-22 overall and 4-15 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
