McDonald Earns Second-Team All-AAC Honors

WALESKA, Ga. – Senior forward DJ McDonald has been named Second-Team All-Appalachian Athletic Conference, as announced by the league office Tuesday evening.

McDonald, a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, paced Bluefield University offensively throughout the 2025-26 season, leading the Rams in scoring at 12.9 points per game across 23 contests. He also averaged 6.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.9 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game, impacting both ends of the floor for Bluefield University.

In addition to leading the team in scoring, McDonald shot a team-best 53.2 percent from the field. He also converted 32.8 percent from three-point range and 69 percent from the free throw line, showcasing his efficiency and versatility as a forward.

His top performance of the season came at home against University of Pikeville on February 11, when he poured in a career-high 27 points on 13-of-17 shooting. McDonald finished the year with two double-doubles and consistently provided a steady presence in the paint for the Rams.

In addition to McDonald's recognition, Bluefield placed four student-athletes on the AAC All-Academic Team: Zac Hall, Isaiah Sanders, Tyler Suber, and Lenair Young.
