Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. - The Bluefield College women's basketball team ran its winning streak to three games with a 66-62 win over the Reinhardt Eagles, Monday evening at the Dome Gymnasium.
Jumping to a 17-14 lead after the first quarter, the Rams struggled in the second 10 minutes, scoring only 10 points and facing the short end of a 35-27 halftime score.
The break allowed BC to regroup and the Rams came out charging in the third quarter and out-scored the Eagles 22-13 in the third to take a 49-48 advantage into the final quarter and claim the victory. The game saw seven ties with six lead changes as the two squads battled the entire 40 minutes.
Shelby Key had the hot hand for Bluefield. Key scored 15 first half points and finished the game with a season-high 24. She also had three assists, four rebounds and seven steals. Deneysha Goods came off the bench and dropped in 13 points with five rebounds and four steals, while Monique Robson had a team-high six rebounds along with nine points.
Reinhardt's Jada Hubbard finished with 19 points and six rebounds.
The Rams over the weekend won games at Columbia International (70-35) and Columbia College (58-50). The team will look to run its win streak to four games when they return to the court Wednesday night at Milligan.
Bluefield stands at 12-9 overall and 7-7 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Reinhardt fell to 9-16 and 5-8 in the AAC.
