Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. - Zeke Williams fired in 26 points and Tony Hood added 14 as the Bluefield College men's team romped past the Montreat Cavaliers 90-65, Monday night at the Dome Gymnasium.
Midway through the first half Bluefield pulled away thanks to a full court press and pressure defense that forced Montreat into 11 first half turnovers and held the Cavaliers to only three two-point baskets in the first 20 minutes of play. BC carried a 45-22 lead into the break and never looked back the remainder of the game as their lead grew as high as 33 points late in the game.
Hood, playing in his first game at the Dome, ran the point well for Bluefield. In addition to his 14 points he had four rebounds, three steals and an assist. Joseph McClain dropped in 12 points for Bluefield, all coming on long three-point baskets. Alonzo Howard had a team-high five rebounds. Williams, Hood and Stanthony Nelms had four boards apiece.
Bluefield's defense led Montreat's leading scorer, Alonzo Mobley to seven points, 10 below his season average of 17. Amir Davis, who came into the averaging just under 17 a game, scored three.
The win snapped a losing streak that saw the Rams go winless in the month of December and in the first game of 2016.  BC last win came Nov. 30 at Bluefield State. The Rams dropped close conference games at Tennessee Wesleyan and Bryan and another in the final second at home to Milligan before falling by four, Saturday at Truett-McConnell. The Rams also dropped three exhibitions against NCAA Division I and II schools that do not count against their record.
With the win Bluefield improved to 9-6 overall and 2-4 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Montreat fell to 2-10 and 1-6 in league games.
BC is back on the court Wednesday night at St. Andrews.
