BLUEFIELD, Va. --
The Rams have their hands full in week two as they travel to Clinton, S.C., to square off with NCAA Division I program Presbyterian College. Kickoff at Bailey Memorial Stadium is set for 7 p.m. and is the first night game at PC since 1990.

The Matchup
Bluefield College is set to face its first-ever NCAA Division I opponent in Presbyterian College on Saturday evening. The Blue Hose are a Football Championship Subdivision program, competing in the Big South Conference. They transitioned to D-I in 2007.

The Rams have history with current NCAA Division I programs such as wins over Appalachian State in 1928 and 1929, but BC football was not around when the current set-up of NCAA Division I, II and III were established in 1973.

Both teams are coming off lopsided defeats in their season openers, BC a 62-40 loss against Mid-South Conference foe Pikeville and PC a 55-3 loss at Northern Illinois.

Scouting the Blue Hose
PC fell in its season opener at Northern Illinois, 55-3. A drive in the third quarter led the Blue Hose to a 31-yard field goal by Brandon Morrow, eliminating the chance for a shutout by the Huskies.

NAIA vs. NCAA FCS (1-7)
Since the 2014 season kicked off, eight contests have involved NAIA vs. NCAA FCS matchups. Grand View (IA) has been the only NAIA program to log a win, a 45-22 victory over Drake University. Grand View is the defending NAIA National Champion, having defeated University of the Cumberlands last year, while Drake competes in the Pioneer League, which does not offer scholarships.

Seeking Win #1
The Rams are still seeking win number one (0-23), as the team embarks upon its third varsity season back on the gridiron. Bluefield College Football's last collegiate victory came on November 20, 1941 -- a 30-7 win over University of Rio Grande.

Following the 1941 season, the program was disbanded as many of the college's men went on to serve our country in WWII.

Bluefield College was a two-year school during the entirety of its early history (1922-41), and became a four-year institution for the 1973-74 academic year.

Making Progress
The Rams posted their highest point total since the program's return in the 62-40 loss against Pikeville. Ashten Dixon went 10-for-17 with two touchdowns to lead the QB attack, while Marion Harris provided 79 rushing yards to lead a group of four rushers who totaled more than 50 yards apiece.

Hit the Ground Running
The Rams' offense hit the ground running last Thursday in the season opener, compiling 504 yards of total offense, with 397 yards coming on the ground.

Both figures are the second-highest totals in their respective categories since the program's return--BC had 533 yards of total offense last year against Bethel (Oct. 5) and 420 rushing yards last year against Union (Oct. 19).

1K in Sight
Marion Harris, who has been a member of the Rams' football team since its return, is narrowing in on 1,000 yards rushing. He tallied 462 in 2012, 440 in just six games in 2013 and went for 79 in the season opener. He is just 19 yards shy of 1,000.

High Speed Offense
Head Coach Ordell Walker likes to get the Rams as many plays as possible. Led by offensive coordinator Aaron Mingo, the Rams reeled off 92 plays in the season opener, including 71 rush attempts and 21 pass plays.
