CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Set one was tightly contested between Bluefield and Campbellsville, but the hosting Tigers closed out the next two sets for the 3-0 sweep, defeating Bluefield 25-23, 25-10, 25-12, in Mid-South Conference volleyball action.
The first set was a true back and forth battle, with the teams having 18 ties. Bluefield was able to grab the biggest lead of the first set at 8-4, but the Tigers rallied back with four straight points to pull even.
The final tie came at 23-all, but a kill for the Tigers and a Bluefield attack error gave CU a 1-0 lead.
Campbellsville held a 10-7 lead in the second set, before reeling off eight straight points, gaining an 18-7 advantage. From there, CU eased in for the 25-10 set two win.
CU recorded a stretch of seven straight points in the third set to open up a 15-5 lead, en route to the 25-12 win in the third and final set.
The Rams were unable to get their attack on point, as they only tallied 10 kills for the evening.
Jasmine Morrow led BC with five kills. The sophomore also led the Rams in digs, with 12, and recorded three blocks.
Marissa Grice led BC with six assists and also tallied 10 digs.
Bluefield is back at it tomorrow evening, facing Lindsey Wilson at 8:30 p.m. ET.
