The Bluefield Rams dropped Saturday's road contest at Campbellsville, 85-57.

Senior center Byron Carpenter led the Rams (6-10, 2-6 Mid-South Conference) in scoring with 17 points. He shot 6-8 from the field and hauled in eight rebounds.

Pierre Walters scored a season-high 13 points. Kearsten Marion was 3-6 from three-point range and finished with 11 points.

The Tigers (10-6, 4-4 MSC) hit 11 three-pointers and shot 54 percent on field goal attempts. Justin Ennis was 7-10 on three-point attempts and had a game-high 26 points.

Campbellsville took an early 8-1 lead. A three-pointer from Marion and a lay-up from Josh Nesbit brought the Rams within two points at the first media timeout.

After the two teams traded baskets, Carpenter made a short jump-shot and a pair of free throws to give Bluefield a 14-12 lead midway through the first half.

A Bryton Taylor lay-up put the Tigers ahead 16-15, but Eric Swift answered on the next Bluefield possession with an offensive rebound and put-back to give the Rams a 16-15 lead.

The Tigers answered with a 24-9 run to close out the first half with a 39-25 lead.

Walters scored five consecutive points to narrow the margin to 11 points early in the second half, but Campbellsville went on a 13-3 run and the Rams could not draw any closer.

The Rams have lost four consecutive conference match-ups after starting the team's inaugural Mid-South season 2-0.

Bluefield will play its third of four straight road games on Thursday when it travels to Rio Grande (6-12, 2-7 MSC).
