BREVARD, N.C. - Softball opened the season with an 8-4 win at Brevard, Wednesday afternoon. The Rams pushed across seven runs in the final three innings to take the win over the Tornado.
Lexi Harmon,
Meredith Throckmorton and
Laken Sparks each had a pair of hits and each had a double in the game. Sparks knocked in four runs in leading the Rams to victory.
Harmon picked up the win in the circle as she worked six-and-two-third innings and recorded five strikeouts.
Bluefield fell in the nightcap 5-1.
The Rams scored the game's first run in the top of the first on a Harmon RBI single, but Brevard scored five unanswered.
Madison Koonce suffered the loss in the circle. She pitched five innings and struck out four.
