Box Score BLUEFIELD – Men's basketball fell in AAC competition Saturday afternoon to the Point Skyhawks at the Dome Gymnasium 63-55.
The Skyhawks controlled the tempo from the onset and took the early lead. PU went on to build a 35-26 halftime lead over the Rams.
BC challenged in the second half and midway through the final 10 minutes the Rams closed to within six points. Point moved ahead by 12 points with three-and-a-half minutes to play in the contest. The Rams made one final charge with two minutes left and cut the Point lead to six with under a minute showing on the clock. BC was forced to foul in the final 40 seconds and PU finished the game at the free throw line.
Niquan Cousins had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds and D'Monte Evans finished with nine points.
Jarrell Holmes of Point finished with 23 points and 14 rebounds.
