Box Score WINONA LAKE, Ind. - Two free throws by Chloe Pridgen with two seconds left, lifted host Grace College (Ind.) to a 57-56 win over the Bluefield College Rams, Thursday afternoon at the National Christian College Athletic Association National Tournament.
A close game throughout, the teams were tied at 16 after one quarter before Grace opened a 32-21 halftime lead. Bluefield came back and retook the lead in the third quarter and trailed by one, 41-40 at the start of the fourth. In the final stanza the teams battled back and forth. Two free throws by
Valerie Lebedeva put Bluefield on top 56-55 with 38 ticks remaining on the clock. The final points came from Pridgen with two seconds to go and gave Grace the win.
Danae Cox and
Whitney Smith led the Rams in scoring with 17 points each and Smith had eight rebounds and three assists.
Courtney Kendrick finished with nine points.
The Rams, 17-16, will play at 3 p.m. Friday for seventh place in the tournament. BC, the seventh seed, will take on eighth seed Crowley's Ridge College of Paragould, Arkansas, in their season finale.
