Box Score MONTREAT, N.C. - The Bluefield College women's basketball team rang in 2017 with a 68-62 Appalachian Athletic Conference win over the Montreat Cavaliers, Tuesday evening in North Carolina.
Danae Cox topped the Bluefield scoring column with 16 points. Hannah Preservati added 13 and Deneysha Goods tallied 12 in the first game in the new calendar year. Courtney Kendrick had a team-high seven rebounds and chipped in nine points.
Bluefield used a strong fourth quarter to claim the win. Trailing 52-46 after three quarters, the Rams out-scored Montreat 22-10 in the final stanza to claim victory.
The Rams are now 8-6 overall and 4-4 in AAC play. Montreat is 6-6 overall and 3-5 in conference games. Bluefield returns to the court Thursday night as St. Andrews visits the Dome Gymnasium.
