Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. - A strong second half surge and a late comeback lifted the Allen University Yellow Jackets past the Bluefield College Rams in women's basketball action, Wednesday night at the Dome Gymnasium.
Bluefield controlled most of the first half and led by eight midway through the second period before Allen surged and took a 42-34 lead into the half.
The teams played even in the third quarter and the Yellow Jackets built an 11-point lead midway through the fourth. Bluefield charged back and took the lead on a pair of free throws by Adrianne Goodlet, but in the final three minutes Allen held onto the lead and claimed the win.
Hannah Preservati led BC with 14 points and five rebounds. Danae Cox added 13 points with five boards, while Whitney Smith dropped in 11 points.
Kamya Thomas led Allen and all scorers with 24 points and Dekoya Mack scored 23 for Allen (7-12, 4-9 AAC).
Bluefield is now 11-9 overall and 7-6 in conference play and will visit Reinhardt on Saturday.
