Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. - The Bluefield College Rams drained 11 three point baskets and shot 43 percent from behind the arc to defeat the Point University Skyhawks 90-73, Saturday afternoon at the Dome Gymnasium.
Point opened the game hot and built an 11-point lead in the game's first three minutes. Bluefield recovered, took the lead and led 49-36 at halftime. The Rams shot a whopping 59 percent from three point territory in the game's first 20 minutes.
The Skyhawks closed the gap to open the second half, but Bluefield again rallied and led by as many as 26 points.
Jorge Concepcion III topped the Bluefield scoring column with 19 points (3 treys). Stanthony Nelms tallied 15 points with six boards. Cordaris Towns scored 14 with five rebounds, Teyon Henry scored 13 with seven rebounds, Khadier Fulcher scored 11 and had a team-high nine rebounds.
Joshua Tolbert had a game-high 29 points for Point, including eight three point baskets. Jay Shorts Jr. scored 16 and made four threes. Point made 14 three point buckets in the game.
Bluefield improved to 10-11 overall and 7-4 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Point fell to 2-18 overall and 1-10 in the AAC. The Rams are back in action Wednesday as they take on Allen University in the Dome at 7:30 p.m.
