Box Score ATHENS, Tenn. - It took an extra five minutes, but the Bluefield College Rams topped the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs 81-73, Wednesday night on the TWU campus.
The Bulldogs dominated early and took a 41-29 lead into the half. Bluefield fought back in the second half, taking the lead midway through and then the teams exchanged being in front for the remainder of the game. At the final horn the contest was tied at 62. Bluefield out-scored TWU 17-9 in overtime to gain the win.
Teyon Henry led the Rams with 22 points, four assists and a pair of steals.
Cordaris Townes had a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds. He also had a pair of blocks, two assists and a steal.
Stanthony Nelms had his third straight double figure scoring game as he dropped in 14 points. Nelms had nine rebounds and five assists.
Isiah Gill tallied 12 points coming on four three-point baskets.
Johnson Decembre was Tennessee Wesleyan's leading scorer with 12 pints. Kenny Dean had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Bluefield improved to 9-11 overall and 6-4 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. The Rams host AAC foe Point, Saturday afternoon at 4:00.
