Box Score 2 PORTSMOUTH, Ohio - The Bluefield College Rams got back on the winning track with a doubleheader sweep of the Shawnee State Bears 5-1 and 10-5, Tuesday afternoon in the historic Ohio River city of Portsmouth.
In game one
Erik Williams, the current Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Week, was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, leading the Rams to a 5-1 victory.
Chaz Miller picked up the pitching win as he worked three innings, gave up one run on two hits and struck out three.
Dylan Ruth pitched the final four frames and allowed no runs on three hits with six strikeouts.
Game two saw Bluefield batters pound out 15 hits in a 10-5 win. Again it was Williams leading the way, going 3-for-4.
Eddie Torres was also 3-for-4 at the plate.
Ryan Lawson,
Garrett Schilling and
Nolan Soto each rapped out two hits and Lawson knocked in three runs.
Dylan Lowenstein drove home two.
Daniel Ruiz, the second of four Bluefield pitchers in the game, got the win as he worked the third and fourth innings and did not allow a hit or a run. He had one strikeout.
The Rams improved to 14-15 on the season and host Milligan, Wednesday night at 6:00 at Bowen Field. The game is a make-up from this past weekend, originally scheduled for Saturday, but postponed due to inclement weather.
