Box Score WINONA LAKE, Ind. – Oh, so close. The Bluefield College women's basketball team fell in the game for fifth place at the NCCAA Tournament, 57-56 to Emmanuel College of Georgia.
The game was a closely contested affair throughout with Emmanuel leading 14-11 at the end of the first quarter and by a single point, 22-21 at halftime. BC trailed by two points, 39-37 headed into the final period.
Shelby Key, playing her final game in the Red and Blue, led Bluefield with 14 points. Deneysha Goods added 13 and Courtney Kendrick 10. Kendrick had a team-high six rebounds and Goods pulled down five boards.
Bluefield finished the season with a 21-13 record in coach Corey Mullins' second season at the helm.
