Box Score 2 BLUEFIELD, Va. - The home opening games for the Bluefield Rams baseball team were quite monumental Monday afternoon at Bowen Field as the Rams took a twinbill from the Ohio State Lima Barons 5-0 and 13-1. With the wins BC head coach
Mike White picked up career coaching victories 299 and 300. Additionally Rams pitchers tossed two hitters in both games.
In game one
Daniel Ruiz earned the complete game victory, allowing two hits and striking out three. At the plate
Dylan Lowenstein and
Eddie Torres had two hits apiece with Torres knocking in two runs.
OSUL's Tyler Blumentritt suffered the loss in five-and-a-third innings of work.
In game two
Dylan Ruth tossed six strong innings and allowed only two hits to the visiting Barons.
Michael Carpenter worked the seventh inning for the Rams.
Bluefield got 12 hits of Lima pitchers and
Garrett Schilling led the way with a pair of hits and four RBIs. Matt Ferreria belted a home run and
Chase White had a pinch hit double that brought home two runs.
Wade Verhoff was tagged with the loss.
The two team are scheduled to meet Tuesday for another doubleheader at Bowen Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
