Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Bluefield College women's basketball team got back on the winning track Saturday afternoon with a 73-58 win over the Truett-McConnell Bears at the Dome Gymnasium. With the win Bluefield improved to 13-10 overall and 8-8 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
Jumping out to a 12-6 lead after the first quarter, the Rams used a pressure defense and clutch shooting to carry a 34-30 lead into the break. It was the third period when BC pulled away from the Bears, out-scoring the visitors 22-13 en route to the final margin of victory.
Danae Cox led BC with 15 points, all coming on three-point baskets.
Deneysha Goods finished with 12,
Maryah Mazyck added 11 and
Monique Robson tallied 10.
Shelby Key scored nine. Goods pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds and Mazyck grabbed eight.
Claudia Hester and Rhande Haskett scored 13 apiece for Truett-McConnell.
The Rams are back in action Wednesday evening at Montreat.
