Box Score BLUEFIELD - Bluefield College's women's team erased a 15 point third period deficit and held off the Truett McConnell University Bears 51-45, Saturday afternoon at the Dome.
Early on it appeared that TMU would run roughshod over Bluefield, but the Rams methodically cut into the deficit and eventually gained the lead. Down 21-12 at halftime, the Rams sliced into the lead in the third quarter and trailed 33-28 as the final quarter began. BC out-scored TMU 23-12 in the fourth to gain the win.
Whitney Smith led BC with 13 points. She also had four rebounds, two steals and two assists.
Autumn Hash led BC with six rebounds while
Courtney Kendrick,
Danae Cox and
Hannah Preservati had five boards apiece. Cox scored nine points.
The Rams are now 7-6 overall and 3-4 in the AAC and play Sunday afternoon at NCAA Division I Marshall University.
