BLUEFIELD - The Rams hosted their final game at Mitchell Stadium of the season, as they dropped a nail biter Saturday evening to Union College, 7-0 on Senior Night.
Neither team could find a rhythm offensively in the first half. The Rams had four turnovers in the game, all coming in the first half. The Bulldogs committed two turnovers.
Tempers flared at the beginning of the second half, as both teams had players ejected due to a scuffle following a punt return. Moments later with emotions still high, Will Seltz laid a bone-crushing hit on a Bulldog receiver.
Benjamin Brown missed a deep go-ahead field goal by inches, with just 1:01left as his kick went off the upright. The first score of the game came with just 15 seconds left to play as the Bulldogs connected for a nine-yard touchdown pass.
Alex Martin rushed for 108 yards on 14 attempts. Cason Whitt passed for 66 yards, completing eight of 15 passes, throwing two interceptions. Frank Brooks returned a punt 28 yards on his only attempt.
It was Senior Night for the Rams and eight players were honored prior to kickoff for their contributions to the program: Ibrahim Bah, Frank Brooks, Jedidiah Halla, LeRico Hopkins, Cordell Johns, Sean Smith, Gabe Spencer and Semaj Tisdale.
BC, 1-9 overall and 1-4 in the MSC, closes out the season on the road as they travel to Kentucky Christian University next Saturday.
