WALESKA, Ga. – Bluefield University junior running back Kyree Edwards has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Offensive Player of the Week following a career-best performance against the University of the Cumberlands on Saturday.

Edwards rushed for a career-high 134 yards on 29 carries and scored one touchdown in the Rams' 50-27 loss to the Patriots. His 29 rushing attempts and 134 rushing yards both marked career highs.

The honor marks the first AAC Player of the Week award of Edwards' career and the first conference weekly honor for Bluefield football since Ethan Cash was recognized last October.

A native of Gainesville, Fla., Edwards was named Second Team All-AAC following the 2025 season after leading the Rams with 318 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.

Edwards has continued to lead the Bluefield rushing attack in 2026. Through two games, he has totaled 219 rushing yards and three touchdowns, leading the AAC in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns and carries with 46.

Edwards and the Rams return to action Saturday when Bluefield travels to Barton College in Wilson, N.C. for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
