WALESKA, Ga. – Bluefield University junior running back Kyree Edwards has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season following a career performance in the Rams' 28-7 victory at Greensboro College Saturday. 

Edwards rushed 22 times for a career-high 199 yards and two touchdowns in the win. His 199 rushing yards surpassed his previous career high of 134, set earlier this season against the University of the Cumberlands. The performance stands as the seventh-most rushing yards in a single game in program history. 

The Gainesville, Fla. native has now earned AAC Offensive Player of the Week honors twice through the first four games of the season.

Edwards continues to lead the AAC with 474 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns this season. His 474 yards rank sixth nationally in the NAIA, while his six rushing touchdowns are tied for fifth. Edwards also ranks eighth nationally with an average of 118.5 rushing yards per game.

The junior has surpassed the 100-yard mark in two of Bluefield's four games this season and has found the end zone on the ground in all four contests.

Edwards, a Second Team All-AAC selection in 2025, has already surpassed his rushing total from last season, when he led the Rams with 318 yards and six touchdowns.

Edwards and the Rams return home Saturday when they host Virginia University of Lynchburg at Mitchell Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
