Box Score BLUEFIELD - Hannah Preservati scored 16 points, dished out five assists and had a pair of steals, while Whitney Smith added 14 points to lead Bluefield College past Tennessee Wesleyan 62-53, Wednesday night at the Dome Gymnasium.
A closely contested first half, the teams were tied at 30 at the intermission before the Rams out-scored TWU 11-7 in the third and 21-16 in the fourth to gain the win, their first in conference play this season.
Courtney Kendrick had a team-high six rebounds and Deneysha Goods pulled down five board. Adrianne Goodlet had three assists and a steal.
Hunter Simpson led Tennessee Wesleyan was led by Hunter Simpson with 19 points and six rebounds. The Bulldogs played in Bluefield despite a tornado ripping through Athens, Tenn., Tuesday night, causing damage to the area including on the TWU campus.
With the win Bluefield improved to 5-5 overall and 1-3 in the AAC. The Rams host Bryan, Saturday night at 6 p.m.
