Box Score ATHENS, Tenn. - Tennessee Wesleyan capped a 19-point comeback with a basket with six seconds remaining and knocked off the Bluefield College Rams 58-56 in Appalachian Athletic Conference action at the Dog House, Wednesday night.
The Rams battled back from a seven point deficit and embarked on a 23-8 run spanning the end of the first and the second quarter to take a 30-22 halftime lead. However, foul trouble in the second half hampered the Rams as both of their post players,
Courtney Kendrick and
Autumn Hash fouled out.
Danae Cox led the Rams in scoring with 12 points and had a game-high nine rebounds along with a pair of steals. Kendrick scored 10 points before fouling out and
Maryah Mazyck scored eight points with six boards.
Monique Robson pulled down five rebounds while
Deneysha Goods and Hash had four boards apiece.
Hunter Simpson led TWC with 14 points and Jara Gasper added 13 including the game-winning points.
BC is now 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the AAC. Tennessee Wesleyan moves to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
Bluefield is back on the court tonight, Thursday at Bryan in an AAC contest.
