Box Score BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – And this one belongs to the Rams.
Freshman Teyon Henry dropped in a game-high 22 points along with three assists, six rebounds, a block and a steal, to lead the Bluefield College Rams to an 85-69 win over the Bluefield State College Big Blues, Monday night at the Ned Shott Gymnasium in the Battle of the Bluefields.
Henry was 9-of-16 from the floor, including four-of-eight from behind the three point line to pace the Rams. Zeke Williams was the only other Ram to score in double figures, tallying 16 points.
While the Rams rolled to the 16-point victory, BSC challenged at times. Up by 20 points in the first half and leading 40-27 at the break, BC saw the Big Blues charge to within four points twice in the second half and even to within two points at 53-51 before the Rams pulled away in the game's final six minutes.
Henry, Alonzo Howard and Stanthony Nelms each had six rebounds to lead the Rams. Sidney Knox, Shakeem Asiedu and Khadier Fulcher pulled down five boards apiece as BC won the rebounding battle 43-39.
Bluefield State freshman Chas Harvey led the Big Blues with 21 points. He also had three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Jamal McCoy finished with 19 points. Avery Holiday and Aaron Williams had seven rebounds each.
The Rams, 7-2 are back in action Wednesday night at AAC opponent Tennessee Wesleyan. Bluefield State is now 1-7 with the loss.
