Bluefield Falls in AAC Doubleheader at Brenau

GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The Bluefield University softball team dropped both games of an Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader at Brenau on Tuesday afternoon, falling 14-1 in five innings in game one and 17-9 in the second contest.

Game One – Brenau 14, Bluefield 1 (5 innings)

Brenau took control early in the opener, scoring two runs in the first inning before erupting for five in the second and four more in the third to build a commanding lead.

BU was held to four hits in the contest, with Delana Loflin, Kenidy Harris, Jada Jordan, and Katie Barrett each recording a hit. Harris accounted for the Rams' lone run, crossing the plate in the fourth inning on an RBI play from Alondra Reeves.

In the circle, Isabella Smith was charged with the loss after the start, while Katie Barrett and Mackenzie Hood provided relief appearances.

Game Two – Brenau 17, Bluefield 9

The Rams responded offensively in game two, putting together a 13-hit performance and scoring in three different innings, including a five-run fourth inning.

Kenidy Harris led the way at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Delana Loflin added a strong showing with three hits and an RBI, while Jada Jordan collected two hits and drove in two runs. Chloe Dillow and Karter Fortune each added hits, and Katie Barrett contributed with a double and scored twice.

Bluefield struck for three runs in the third inning and followed with five more in the fourth to cut into the deficit, but Brenau answered with runs in each of the final three innings to pull away late.

Sara Lang took the loss in the circle, with Isabella Smith and Katie Barrett also seeing time in relief.

BU continues AAC play on Wednesday with a road doubleheader at Truett McConnell beginning at 2 p.m.
