BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Bluefield University women's basketball team came up short Wednesday evening, falling 89-55 inside the Dome in conference play.
Bluefield (3-25, 2-17 AAC) battled throughout the night and closed strong, outscoring Milligan 17-15 in the fourth quarter. The Rams showed resilience down the stretch, continuing to compete and generate offense late in the contest.
Gabriela Rosado led Bluefield with 10 points, shooting a perfect 3-of-3 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free throw line. Anna Smith added 11 points, while Elle Gunter contributed nine points and four rebounds. Ashanti Northcross finished with eight points and three steals, and Maddie Day pulled down five rebounds to go along with four points.
As a team, the Rams tallied 30 bench points and shot 83.3 percent (10-of-12) from the free throw line. BU also forced eight steals and continued to find production from multiple contributors throughout the lineup.
The Rams will close out the regular season Saturday with Senior Day inside the Dome, hosting Reinhardt at 2:00 p.m.
