Box Score Bluefield, VA.- The Bluefield University Rams continued their impressive winning streak with a dominant performance against the Bisons, securing a decisive victory in a three-set match. From the opening serve, the Rams showcased their strength and coordination, executing powerful attacks and strategic plays that kept their opponents on their toes.
The Rams started off strong by taking the first set 25-18, with aggressive hits and great defense. The team got stronger taking the second set 25-15. Finally, the Rams showed determination and closed the match securing the third set with a 25-21 victory over the Bisons.
Multiple players stepped up in today's match. Mason Lloyd and Kyle Pietrzak led the offense both with 10 kills, while Kemani Riley was right behind them with 9 kills and an amazing hitting percentage of 0.471. On the defensive side of the game, Colby Mutter led the team with 10 digs, while Mason Lloyd was right behind him with 9 digs. General Smith also contributed greatly on the defensive side with a total of 3 blocks. Lastly, the Rams also showed their strength behind the service line with 6 total aces and Benedict Somes leading with 2.
This win secures the Rams a 10-5 overall score and a winning streak of 5 total wins. Coach Keven John said that our Rams were in the driver's seat for this match and that they are using it to prepare the team for "their next match and this upcoming weekend". The Rams are back at home once again tomorrow March 11th at 6 pm, playing Tusculum who they played earlier in the season and fell a little short. Kyle Pietrzak says, "We have to have a next man up mentality with me and Kemani stepping up since Dakarai Williams will be out". Come support the Rams tomorrow against the Pioneers!
