We knew Monday was going to be a really tough test for us as Mont Alto swept their conference last season. They were an extremely physical team, and we had to battle to find a goal in the 77th minute. The energy and effort from everyone was amazing both games. Our depth really showed all weekend with 12 different players scoring or assisting."
The standout performance of
Autumn Matthews in goal, coupled with a solid defensive effort, ensured that Bluefield University maintained a clean sheet throughout the weekend. The Rams' defense has proven to be formidable, and Matthews' contribution has been instrumental in their unbeaten run.
As Bluefield University revels in this historic achievement, the team's focus now shifts to their next challenge. The Rams are set to face the team sitting at top of the AAC conference, Columbia International University, on September 7th at 10 a.m. The upcoming match promises to be another exciting test of Bluefield's capabilities and a chance to continue their impressive start to the season.
