Bluefield Sweeps Tri-Match at Bryan College

Kristen Parker

The Bluefield Rams traveled to Dayton, TN, for a tri-match against Bryan College and Spartanburg Methodist. Riding high from their dominant sweep of Milligan earlier in the week, the Rams continued their strong performance by sweeping Bryan College in three sets and then securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Spartanburg Methodist.

Game Highlights and Key Plays
In their first match against Bryan College, the Rams showcased their dominance. Bryan, seeking their first conference win, found themselves outmatched by Bluefield's precision and tactical play. The Rams exploited every open spot on the court, and even the Bryan commentators praised the Rams' exceptional court awareness.
The game against Spartanburg Methodist proved to be a tougher battle. The Rams started strong, taking a 2-0 lead and needing just one more set to secure the win. However, Spartanburg adapted their strategy, reading Bluefield's attacks and increasing their blocking efforts. This shift allowed Spartanburg to level the match at 2-2. Undeterred, the Rams surged in the decisive fifth set, winning 15-7. Despite Spartanburg's statistical edge, Bluefield excelled in crucial moments and secured the victory.
