BLUEFIELD – Bluefield University's women's basketball team closed the 2023 portion of the season Tuesday afternoon against the NAIA #9 ranked Georgetown College Tigers at the Dome Gymnasium. The Rams battled before the Tigers pulled away in the second half for a 96-71 win.
INSIDE THE GAME

• Georgetown opened a 5-0 lead and Bluefield drew to within a point at 13-12. Georgetown led 25-21 at the end of the first quarter.
• The Rams pulled to within a point once again and took the lead on a Tamera Maple three with 9:00 left in the quarter, 27-26.
• The Tigers tied at 32 and went on a 19-6 run to lead 51-38 at halftime.
• Georgetown controlled the third quarter and led 74-55 going into the fourth.

LEADERS

• Destiny Long led BU with 28 points, six rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals.
• Maple finished with 17 points.
• Lina Pagan added 10 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
