Brenau takes matinee in the Dome

BLUEFIELD – Bluefield University's women's basketball team kicked off calendar year 2024 with a Tuesday afternoon Appalachian Athletic Conference contest against the Brenau University Golden Tigers. The Rams battled in the first half, but a Tigers run in the third led the visitors to an 82-67 win.
INSIDE THE GAME
  • The lead see-sawed between the teams early before Brenau took a 19-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.
  • Destiny Long's three-point-play midway through the second quarter brought the Rams to within a point of the lead, 23-22.
  • Tamera Maples' three gave Bluefield a five-point lead, 34-29.
  • Bluefield led 39-32 at halftime.
  • Brenau took control in the third quarter, out-scored Bluefield 32-11 and built a lead as high as 18 points.
