BLUEFIELD – It was an exciting night of AAC volleyball Tuesday night at the Dome Gymnasium, but the Bluefield University Rams fell to the Milligan University Buffaloes in four sets, 13-25, 25-23, 22-25, 20-25.
INSIDE THE MATCH

• The opening set was filled with long volleys and streaks. Milligan opened an early five-point lead before going on a run to take a 17-9 lead. The Rams battled but fell 25-13.
• Set two was also characterized by several long volleys between the teams. Again the Buffaloes raced out to a lead before the Rams tied at nine and took their first lead 14-13. After a tie at 21 BU closed the set on a 4-2 run to win 25-23.
• The teams fought back and forth in the third. The Rams knotted the set at 13 and took a 16-13 lead. Milligan closed the set with a 12-6 run to win 25-22.
• BU held an early lead until MU tied at nine. Bluefield forged ahead 15-14 only to see another Milligan run, 11-5, to close out the set and win  the match.

LEADERS

• Liangelys Santana recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 17 digs.
• Joslyn Evans had 13 kills.
• Georgia Lewis finished with 31 digs and Eledy Torres collected 16.
• Nayerly Jimenez dished out 34 assists.

NEXT IN LINE

• The Rams close out their home season Saturday morning against Johnson University. It will be Senior Day, with Senior Day activities beginning at 10:45. First serve is at 11:00.
