BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield University women's volleyball won its third straight match Saturday morning at the Dome. The BU Rams swept the Point University Skyhawks 25-20, 25-19, and 25-18.
Aubri Whatcott led with 34 assists and the Rams got 13 kills from Jessica Wells, 11 kills from Lauren Sotomayor, and eight kills from Leslie Flores. The Rams defense followed suit with a pair of blocks each for Adrianah Grejeda, Stephanie Reitzloff, and Flores in addition to 13 digs from Georgia Lewis, seven for both Flores and Sarah Dusse, and six from Kassidy Brown.
Te'a Owens led the Skyhawks in digs with 13 followed by Audrey Blaschke with 12. Sarah Baucham led with nine kills.
"We had yet another great team effort," said Rams head coach Buddy Gallemore. "We are playing well in all phases of the game and continuing to improve each match."
The Bluefield University Rams are now 7-6 overall and 4-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. They play next Tuesday evening at 6:30 in the Dome against Kentucky Christian University.
