Walkoff Win

BLUEFIELD - Eligha Lewis' two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted Bluefield College to a come-from-behind 6-5 win over the Point Skyhawks, Friday in the opening game of an AAC doubleheader at Bowen Field.
Point took a 1-0 lead in the third. The Rams tied in the fourth when Lewis hit his fourth home run of the week, marking three consecutive games with a long ball. Point later took a 2-1 lead and pushed it to 5-1 with three in the eighth. BC pushed across a run in the eighth thanks to a Point error. Point replaced starting pitcher Will Thomas as the ninth inning opened. Keagan Spradlin took over on the mound for the Skyhawks and walked the first two batters he faced, Anderson Xapsos and Jeremie Garcia. Nate Cobb singled to load the bases. Clay Wisner followed with a double to left, scoring two runs to make the score 5-4. Taylor Meaux was given an intentional walk to load the bases. Enter Lewis who hit the ball to deep right-center field. Cobb touched home to tie the game and pinch runner Max Aristy scampered in from second base to end the game.
Lewis, Garcia and Wisner each had a pair of hits for the Rams. Lewis knocked in three runs, Wisner two.
Andrew Arguello started on the mound for Bluefield and pitched seven strong innings. Arguello allowed two runs and struck out four. Tyler Lowrey who entered in the eighth and pitched the final two frames got the win.
