Skyhawks take nightcap

BLUEFIELD - Point University pulled away in the late innings and took an 8-4 win over the Rams in the second game of the doubleheader, Friday night at Bowen Field.
Point got on the board in the third and the Rams tied in the fourth. Point then added three in the fifth to go ahead 4-1. BC responded in the bottom half of the inning to pull to within a run at 4-3. The Skyhawks hung a four spot on the board in the sixth to widen its lead. Taylor Meaux homered in the sixth for Bluefield to make it 8-4, but a comeback as in game one was unable to materialize and the Rams dropped game two of the AAC twinbill.
Ryan Voss pitched five innings and struck out three for the Rams and was tagged with the loss. 
Clay Wisner had a pair of hits, including a double.
The two teams conclude the three-game series Saturday afternoon with a single nine inning game beginning at 1:00 at Bowen Field.
