BLUEFIELD - Cierra Cook scored a team-high 19 points and
Tianna Crockett added 19, but it was not quite enough as the Rams fell to Milligan 70-62 in AAC action Wednesday night at the Dome Gymnasium.
Milligan claimed the early lead and were up seven, 21-14 and the end of the first quarter. The Rams stormed back in the second and tied the game on a pair of fast break layups by
Nialla Curtis at 25. Curtis' free throw gave BC its first lead at 26-25. The teams went to the lockerroom tied at 32.
Cook had 14 first half points for Bluefield and the Rams shot 48 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes.
The teams went back-and-forth in the third quarter, both holding the lead, before Milligan pulled away and led 46-42 going into the final period.
The Buffaloes went up by 10 midway through the fourth but the Rams cut it to five with three minutes to go. The Rams were within four on
Tiyanna Scott's free throw with 56 seconds to play, but Milligan closed out the game at the charity stripe for the win.
Kendal Cloninger led BC with 10 rebounds.
