BLUEFIELD - D'Monte Evans and Jermiah Jenkins popped in 19 points apiece to lead men's basketball to an 83-75 win over Reinhardt, Saturday evening at the Dome Gymmasium. The win was the second straight for BC in AAC play in calendar year 2020.
The first half saw Bluefield open a 10-point lead before Reinhardt came back to tie the game and take a 40-39 lead into the intermission. The visitors gained the lead by shooting 54 percent from the field.
The Rams gained the advantage in the second half, regained the lead and tightened their defense. BC held Reinhardt to 39 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes in gaining the win.
In addition to Evans and Jenkins each scoring 19 points, Damauri Sexton added 14 points with nine rebounds and Niquan Cousins dropped in 10 with six boards. Cousins is now 23 points shy of the 1,000 point mark for his Bluefield career. Earlier this season Jenkins surpasssed that milestone.
