BLUEFIELD - In the final match of a tri-match at the Dome, Friday, Life University won all three sets over the Rams 25-20 to take a Mid-South Conference match in three sets.
In the first set LU took the early lead by five and maintained throughout. The Running Eagles' lead grew to eight before BC cut it to three at 19-16. BC could not get any closer and Life took the first one 25-20.
The Rams snagged the early lead and the teams battled for each point in the second set before the BC got the first two-point lead at 12-10. Life retook the lead and went up by three at 17-14. Late in the set the Rams made a run but could not get any closer than two and again Life got a 25-20 win.
Set three saw Bluefield forge ahead early 8-6 and the Rams led by three, 15-12, midway through. But a strong run by Life saw the Running Eagles pull even at 17 and again win the set 25-20 and take the match.
Alberto Chiaparini had 10 kills for Bluefield and Chaz Franqui had 21 kills. Aieron Leary had nine digs and Carleek Owens had eight digs.
