BLUEFIELD - Women's basketball opened the 2019-20 campaign Wednesday evening at the Dome Gymansium and fell to a tough WVU Tech squad 78-45.
The Rams battled tough in the first period and trailed 20-11 after the first quarter. The Golden Bears widened their lead and led 40-19 at the break. The visitors were hot, shooting 60 percent from the field in the first half, while the Rams managed to shoot 23 percent. BC improved in the second half as they shot 45 percent in the final 20 minutes of the game.
Cierra Cook topped the scoring column for Bluefield with 12 points, followed by
Kianna Campbell in her BC debut with 10 points. and a team, high five rebounds.
The Rams are back in action this weekend in the Appalachian Wireless Classic in Pikeville, Ky., taking on Shawnee State and Pikeville.
