Knights joust Rams in three sets

Team honors Fisher prior to contest

BLUEFIELD - The Rams welcomed the St. Andrew Knights to the Dome and lost in three sets 25-16, 25-18, and 25-17.  
Before the match started, Coach Buddy and the rest of the team presented Paige Fisher with a shovel that represented that she had achieved her 1,000th career dig on October 5th against Bryan College. Prior to the match Fisher had 1,027 digs and will continue to increase that number throughout the rest of season. A special congratulations goes to Paige on her big accomplishment.  
To start the match, the Rams took the lead. Shortly after, the Knights came back to tie. Exchanging points back and forth, the Knights took their first lead at five to four, but the Ram gave no mercy and came right back. The Knights increased their lead to more than one at the score of 12 to nine, a three-point lead. After a small comeback from the Rams, the Knights kept increasing their lead to 17-12. The Knights kept increasing their lead to 23-16 and continued to win the set at 25-16.  
The Rams started the second set with a lot of energy that helped them get ahead to have a three to one lead. The Knights came back and tied with the Rams five to five. With multiple ties throughout the numbers six through ten, the Knights took a three-point lead at 14-10. After a timeout call, the Rams came back on a roll scoring three more points, but the Knights had the same thought and did the same. The Rams cut the Knights lead to only two points at 19-17 then the Knights came back to increase score to 23-17, a six-point lead, the biggest the Knights had all match. The Knights took the second set at 25-18.  
The Knights scored the first three points in the third set. With multiple efforts from the Rams, they decreased St. Andrews lead to only two at eight to six. The Knights steady increased their lead of five-points to 18-13 and then to 22-13. The Rams lost the third set 25-17 
Kassidy Holloway had a double-double with 23 assists and 19 digs. Leslie Flores had 17 digs, Kailee Kay had 15 with Claire Fingerlin and Paige Fisher tied with 10. Leslie Flores had nine kills and Katie Kendrick had seven.
