Box Score 2 WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Softball improved its record to 3-3 on the season with a non-conference doubleheader sweep of Piedmont International University, Saturday afternoon.
GAME 1
Cameron Pearson got the victory in the circle as she pitched a seven-inning complete game, striking out six and allowing four runs on four hits. Pearson was also 3-for-4 at the plate.
Gabrielle Melick was 2-for-2 and
Laken Sparks also had two hits for the Rams.
Bluefield scored five runs in the fifth inning to break open the game.
GAME 2
The Rams scored four times in the second frame to forge ahead and gain the win.
Meredith Throckmorton was 3-for-3, while
Eryn Haley as 2-for-2. Pearson was 2-for3.
Sparks gained the pitching win as she pitched a complete game and struck out four batters.
Bluefield pitchers did not walk a Piedmont International batter in either game of the doubleheader.
The Rams are back in action on Saturday, March 3, in an AAC doubleheader at Bryan.
