PIKEVILLE, Ky. - Shawnee State pulled away in the second half to take a 72-50 win over women's basketball in the opening game of the Appalachian Wireless Classic, Friday afternoon, hosted by the University of Pikeville.
After a tightly contested first half, the Bears (3-0) took control of the contest in the third period and claimed the victory in the fourth quarter.
Danae Cox led the Rams with 13 points and four rebounds, while
Courtney Kendrick added nine points and five rebounds, and
Cierra Cook tossed in nine points.
The Rams (0-2) will take on host Pikeville, Saturday at noon.
