Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 BUENA VISTA, Va. - The Bluefield College softball team remained red hot with a doubleheader sweep of the Southern Virginia University Knights, Thursday, March 9. Brienna Sparks got the complete game pitching victories in both games as the Rams moved to 9-3 on the season, the best start in program history.
In game one Sparks tossed a two-hitter as Bluefield got the 3-1 win. Meredith Throckmorton, Alexandra Bartley and Megan Arrington each had a pair of hits for the Rams.
The nightcap saw Sparks toss a four-hit shutout as the Rams claimed an 11-0 win. Sparks struck out 10 Knights in game two. Kaitlyn Pennington had three hits for Bluefield, while Kristen Murphy had two hits and two RBIs. Mary Blake Avery and Morgan Sawyers each knocked in three runs.
