Box Score  KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Bluefield College women's basketball team fell in its opening game of the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament, Thursday morning at the Meadow View Resort and Conference Center. The Rams, seeded fourth, fell to fifth seeded Tennessee Wesleyan 65-56.
Bluefield led 13-9 after one quarter and trailed TWU 28-24 at halftime. The Bulldogs built as much as a 14-point lead in the second half. The Rams got to within seven on several occasions but could not draw any closer.
Whitney Smith led Bluefield with 14 points and four rebounds.
Danae Cox,
Autumn Hash and
Hannah Preservati scored eight points each.
Courtney Kendrick had eight rebounds.
Hunter Simpson led Tennessee Wesleyan with 18 points and Madison Walkup added 14.
The Rams are now 18-13 and await pairings for the National Christian College Athletic Association tournament.
