Box Score BLUEFIELD - The Bluefield College women's basketball team celebrated Senior Day in grand fashion, beating the Appalachian Athletic Conference's top team, Reinhardt University, 54-51 in overtime at the Dome.
Senior
Whitney Smith scored a career high 22 points to lead BC to victory. Smith pulled down six rebounds. Bluefield out-scored Reinhardt 11-5 in the fourth quarter to draw even at the end of regulation, then topped the Eagles 7-4 in the extra period.
Courtney Kendrick tallied 10 points with five rebounds and
Autumn Hash came off the bench to have a team high seven boards.
Rebecca Cheeks led Reinhardt with points.
Bluefield completes the regular season with a 17-12 record, 13-9 in the AAC, and will play next in the conference tournament, Thursday in Kingsport, Tenn. Reinhardt finishes in a first place tie with Milligan in the AAC with a league record of 18-4. Overall the Eagles are 26-4. They will also play Thursday in Kingsport.
Following the game four BC seniors were honored -
Deneysha Goods,
Valerie Lebedeva, Smith and
Brooke Wolford. Also honored was the only senior on the cheer squad, Morgan Stephens.
