Box Score BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The 2017 women's basketball Battle of the Bluefields took place on the West Virginia side of the border Tuesday night and the Rams held off a late charging Bluefield State squad to earn a 62-54 victory.
The Rams were led by Emily Hart who recorded a double-double and also got double-figure scoring from Danae Cox, and double-figure rebounds from Kierra Bell-Linnear in the win.

KEY MOMENTS
·         Bluefield led 7-2 midway through the first quarter and moved ahead by as many as nine before Bluefield State cut the lead to three at the end of the stanza.
·         Bluefield State took its first lead at 17-15, completing 7-0 run that spanned the first and second quarters.
·         Bluefield closed the half on a 6-0 run to lead 30-22 at halftime.
·         Bluefield pushed its lead as high as 20 points in the third quarter before Bluefield State rallied back to within three points with just under seven minutes left in the game.
